Joseph F. Eckroth, Jr. Joins TE Connectivity as Chief Information Officer; Ronald F. Vance Retires

SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland, Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TE Connectivity Ltd. (NYSE: TEL), a world leader in connectivity, today announced that Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Ronald (Ron) F. Vance is retiring from the Company effective December 31, 2013. Mr. Vance will continue in his current capacity until his successor, Joseph (Joe) F. Eckroth, Jr. joins the Company in November 2013.

Mr. Vance has served the Company for over 30 years. As TE's Chief Information Officer since 1996, Mr. Vance has been responsible for TE's global information systems, technology infrastructure and enterprise processes. Over the course of his career, Mr. Vance has enabled the efficient integration of TE's acquisitions, implemented a single-instance ERP system that supports nearly all of TE's business globally, and led the Company's digital capabilities to serve TE customers better through real-time access to product information, pricing, orders and service.

Mr. Eckroth has been with Hertz Holdings and Hertz since 2007, and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President, Global Customer Care and Chief Information Officer. Mr. Eckroth also oversees the Corporate Project Management Office, Revenue Management function and Navigations Solutions business, which is the exclusive provider of the Hertz Neverlost units and related services. Prior to joining Hertz Holdings and Hertz, Mr. Eckroth served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of New Century Financial Corporation. Previously, Mr. Eckroth served as the Chief Information Officer for Mattel, Inc. and two of General Electric's business units, GE Medical Systems and GE Industrial Systems. Mr. Eckroth earned his MBA from Pepperdine University School of Business and Management and his bachelor's degree from the University of La Verne in La Verne, California.
